While we may just call it "home," Buffalo actually has a cool collection of nicknames, one of which is the "City of Light." Any idea where this one originated from?
Along with being the first city in the nation to have electric streetlights, Buffalo also hosted an electric-themed Pan-American Exposition (aka. World's Fair) in 1901. The Fair's centerpiece, the Electric Tower, was lit by Niagara Falls, which continues to be a huge natural power source.
