A recently released survey ranks the Buffalo Niagara region No. 2 among the "Best Places In America To Relocate To."

Although it's no suprise to longtime Western New Yorkers, the region was selected by for its relatively low unemployment rate and affordable housing. The affordability issue we have discussed on this site before.
Places such as Buffalo have remained stable amid the boom-bust cycle of the dot-com and real estate industries, unlike some faster-growing metro areas that were much harder hit, according to Bert Sperling, president of the research firm that produced the list.
Our region was also selected for amenities such as architecture, recreation, culture and pro sports, Sperling said.
Pittsburgh ranked first on the list while Omaha, Neb., garnered third place.
